Maryjka, guardian of the path to the stars

She arrived from afar, enveloped in the scent of wood. Maryjka, carved under the hot African sun. She remembered the singing, the dust of the red earth, and the hands of the artisan who gave her a face full of serenity.

She traveled across seas and cities until she finally reached the Ksiuta gallery in Środek. There, amidst colors, paintings, and the strange stories of other objects, she stood on a colorful tablecloth. Her modest presence attracted those who could look carefully.

At night, when the gallery emptied, it was said she conversed with the paintings on the walls. She told them about the stars, which she was closer to where she came from, and longed for that sky. And here, she listened to the stories of people who came and left transformed.

And so she remained—not as a mere figurine, but as a silent guardian of the path to the stars.
